From our game and venison, to home reared lamb, we can guarantee animal welfare and natural productivity, bringing you meat just as nature intended.

Advocating ‘eat what you shoot’, there is no better way to get a taste of these delicious birds, nurtured by our gamekeeper, David. As a member of the British Game Alliance, we guarantee high standards, from animal welfare to game handling.

Venison

Wild venison is one of nature’s finest offerings. There is no finer venison than that from our wild roe deer, that roam freely here on Barwhillanty Estate. Delicious, healthy and versatile, we aspire to process and supply our wild venison locally from home in the near future.

Farmed venison is a superior meat to many in its high protein and nutrient values. From field to fork, originating from our herd of around 100 red deer, managed by Paul, our calm farm manager, this wholesome and healthy meat is of the highest quality.

We supply our farmed venison through First Venison to top end supermarkets, such as Waitrose and Marks and Spencer, who value our standards and traceability.

Lamb

We are proud producers of prime lamb. Our prime lamb originates from our closed flock of around 1200 sheep.

Mainly comprised of the wool shedding Easycare breed, our sheep are hardy, productive and require minimal intervention. Being kept outside all year round, grassland provides the majority of their feed, supplemented only approaching and during the lambing season.

We rely on natural productivity of grass and clover, simply managing pH levels through use of lime and replacing lost nutrients with fertiliser when necessary due to excessive rain or having cut their fields for hay/silage.

We supply our lamb to supermarkets and the butchery trade.
