Barwhillanty Blog… Bah Humbug!

It’s certainly been a challenging year for us here at Barwhillanty Estate, but we have not let the hurdles hold us back and remain optimistic for a prosperous 2021. It has been a quiet season in several respects, from our shooting to our holiday cottages, but we have embraced the opportunity in preparations for prosperity! Our holiday cottages are all ‘Good to Go’ and we are excited about adding another TWO to our collection of cosy, country cottages with breathtaking views overlooking the rolling hills of Galloway, finished with family living at heart and adventures in mind.

Our gamekeeper, David, has been busying himself tidying up around the Estate and helping create an environment protective of wildlife, in harmony with nature. Along this theme, we have had the chance to reflect on our values and our philosophy here at Barwhillanty Estate and spent many long hours working on our NEW WEBSITE, which we are delighted to announce, has just been launched! We hope to welcome you into our community, to share an appreciation and respect for some of the magic Barwhillanty Estate holds… please do take a look: www.barwhillantyestate.co.uk

It has been our first year with baby deer, here on our red deer farm, that we are delighted to say are now flourishing and happily independent. We are very excited about this new venture and are proud to be producing prime venison for top end supermarkets, who value our standards and traceability. This delicious, healthy and versatile meat, from field to fork, is well worth adding to your menu!

Having postponed my aerial yoga studio launch from April to September, I have been overwhelmed by the interest in my classes, now in full swing, and unbelievably proud of my students who have joined me on this journey and truly have learnt to fly! I hope to introduce many of you to this incredible practice of yoga and to let you find the magic in flight.

On that note, let your spirits soar this season in anticipation for a joyful 2021… we certainly have a few planned events and adventures up our sleeves… a new baby in May being one! Merry Christmas!
